A little Parisian mood is about to slip beneath the streets of London Bridge. Forbidden Fruit. The speakeasy‑style wine bar tucked under Lady of the Grapes in the Menier Chocolate Factory, is launching Sunday Jazz nights from 27 September, opening with the velvet‑voiced Naomi Banks at 5pm.

The bar already has a cult following for its all‑female wine list, curated by Parisian founder Carole Bryon. Expect natural and organic bottles from trailblazing winemakers across France, Italy, South Africa, Australia and beyond, all poured by the glass.

Now, the wines meet live jazz. Naomi Banks and pianist Ali Roocroft lead the first and third shows, with Shannon Bowden bringing her soulful sets on 4 and 25 October. Think low lights, intimate corners and the soft hum of a 1920s Paris underground bar.

Forbidden Fruit keeps things deliciously simple: molten cheese toasties, French charcuterie, chilled reds, rare vintages and wine‑based cocktails. It’s the kind of Sunday plan that feels both indulgent and effortless.

Upstairs, Lady of the Grapes continues its run of playful events, from Tarot & Wine nights to grower dinners and a Beaujolais Nouveau party in November.
