In Quantumania, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and his wife, Hope ‘the wasp’ (Evangeline Lilly) are joined by their parents Hank (Michael Douglas) and Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer), and daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton).

The family get sucked into the Quantum Realm and spend the movie trying to fight their way out of it.

When Paul Rudd landed on our screens as Ant-man, it was refreshing to see a Marvel comic adaptation that didn’t follow the usual formula. The fight scenes didn’t go on for an age and the movie was laced with comic one-liners. Eight years on and the success of the franchise has heavily influenced the second installment. This may well be why the reviews have been wishy-washing at best.

While this is undoubtedly a good move, it was more than a little disappointing that it’s moved as far away from the 2015 movie that we all loved.

Expect plenty of explosive moments and fantastic CGI effects and lots of ‘Marvel’ moments. If you’re a fan of the franchise, you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect it to be a similar vein to the first movie.
